Palin excitement levels off as Democrats regain lead
http://us.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/18/palin.appeal/index.html

The "bounce" that both campaigns experienced from their respective conventions has pretty much settled down now and we're just about back where we were a couple of months ago. It's GAME ON! :-)

First a Bridge, Now a Road
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/18/opinion/18thu4.html?_r=1&th&emc=th&oref=slogin

Well, they started off with the Bridge to Nowhere and have now come up with a Road to Nowhere ... so at least it's getting smaller. Maybe after they move on from the Road they could come up with something like the Rope Swing to Nowhere ...

Community organizers have deep roots in democracy
http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-organizer18-2008sep18,0,6847814.story?track=ntothtml

The GOP can mock community organizers all they want to, but they have served a noble purpose in this country. To make fun of them is an insult to all who make the places they live in better through their efforts.

John McCain can't seem to find his economic footing
http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-campaign18-2008sep18,0,1709490.story?track=ntothtml

McCain has admitted -- several times -- that the economy just really isn't his best thing ... so why do people listen to him talk about it?! He's clueless.

Down Days for McCain
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/17/AR2008091702970.html?wpisrc=newsletter&wpisrc=newsletter

The Palin Bounce is over, and McCain can't explain what "change" is to save his political life. The fat lady ain't singing yet, but she's warming up in the wings.

High Turnout, New Procedures May Mean an Election Day Mess
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/17/AR2008091703663.html

Great -- just what we needed: something to make 2000 look like a walk in the park.

Fundamentally, McCain Has Something to Worry About
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/17/AR2008091703307.html

"The fundamentals of our economy are strong," John? Really? Sure about that? If you're a person who admits to not understanding the economy, you should probably quit babbling about it.

The Women Wars Continue for Barack Obama and John McCain
http://www.usnews.com/blogs/erbe/2008/9/17/the-women-wars-continue-for-barack-obama-and-john-mccain.html?s_cid=et-0918

I really don't understand the choice here ... because the Democratic Party has traditionally been far better on issues mattering most to women (reproductive choice and wages, just to name a couple) than have the Republicans.

The real issues of election 2008
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/opinionla/la-ed-values18-2008sep18,0,1871944.story

"Values voting" is pretty ridiculous anyway. Abortion and gays aren't the most crucial issues facing this country, and if you think they are, then you're absolutely fooling yourself.

What, Me Worry?
http://www.slate.com/id/2200301

Obama acts like he's ahead because, well, he IS. He's an optimistic person running a campaign that it optimistic about the future of our country, and the American people are tired of political messages that only tell you what's wrong with the US and who is to blame for it.

Hacking Sarah Palin
http://www.slate.com/id/2200359

Using a personal e-mail account for State of Alaska business is against the law, but apparently Sarah Palin has done just that. Still, hacking into someone's e-mail is also illegal, and those doing that to Palin should be punished.

McCain Flub? Republican Says He'd Fire SEC Chair as President
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/mccain-blasts-o.html

Uhhhhhhh ... John, the president can't fire the SEC chief. Duh. You should know that.
