Classless moves

Yesterday, John McCain decided to "suspend" his campaign, return to Washington, and request that tomorrow's presidential debate be postponed. While at first glance perhaps appearing noble, these were, in fact, rather classless moves on his part and nothing but cheap political stunts. Hell, McCain isn't even on any of the congressional committees charged with regulating and investigating the finance industry.

McCain's decisions could also have been attempts to create an issue where none exists. Not sure about that? Okay, just give me a minute.

Having made those decisions, McCain's campaign can now publicly ask of Obama, "Why haven't you done the same? Are America's economic problems not important to you?" They can attempt to make Obama look bad while buying themselves additional time to prep McCain for the inevitable buttwhipping he is destined to receive at the debate. It's the only win they could possibly get this week, so they went for it. I used to think John McCain was better than that ... but over the last few months, he has changed. He has sold his soul in an effort to win this election and will now do anything to win.

And now he's also ticked off David Letterman by bailing on his show to appear with Katie Couric. :-) Just take a look:

Bad move, John.
